It means a lot. Murriam-Chubster is a project that originated from me pondering the types of fetish posts I could make on my Bluesky page, since, as a writer, I felt like I was really underutilizing it for that purpose. At the time I was mulling that over, I had also reinstalled the Merriam-Webster app on my phone, which has a widget for the Word of the Day, and something about seeing that got some gears turning in my head. “What if,” I asked myself, “I wrote up tiny little kinky posts, just long enough to fit within Bluesky’s character limit, that each feature whatever the WOTD is?” Thinking this had some appealing novelty to it, I first settled on a name, which rather quickly ended up becoming Murriam-Chubster. The “Murriam” is derived from the furry vernacular term “murr,” and I opted for “Chubster” to make clear its focus on weight gain (really, what else could I have replaced Webster with?). Having a solid idea of the direction I wanted to take this all in, I made the first post on the 11th of June, and now here we are! Presented here is a compilation of the Murriam-Chubster posts for the month of June. Outside of a single minor grammatical correction in one (impetus), they are all here verbatim. If you cross-reference the entries here with Merriam-Webster’s list, there is one WOTD missing (emancipation), which I opted not to use for sensitivity reasons. “Rejuvenate” took its place. I wanted to throw in a bonus for readers of this document as well, so I wrote up examples for the ten Words of the Day before I started, all drafted in Bluesky to make sure they didn’t exceed the length of the rest. If you’ve been following the skeets, hopefully they make checking this doc out worthwhile!
